FOCUS FRIDAY: WRINKLES

WRINKLES.

On this
FLOWER,
wrinkles are
BEAUTIFUL.

They add wondrous
CHARACTER.

IMAGINE
the flower
WITHOUT
the
WRINKLES.

BORING.

* * * * * * * * * * * *

At first, I intended to make this post an
ODE TO WRINKLES
and the
CHARACTER
and
BEAUTY
 they bring to a
FACE.

I looked at hundreds of
IMAGES
of aging
HUMANS.

My
ODE TO WRINKLES:
G.O.N.E.

Yes, they definitely add
CHARACTER.
They show a
MAP
of a human face.

But,
I don't find them
BEAUTIFUL.

* * * * * * * * * * * *

It's always been said that
MALES
age more
GRACEFULLY
than
FEMALES.

Really?

WRINKLES
in humans:
CHARACTER,
yes.
BEAUTY,
no.

END OF STORY.

Father Time is not always a hard parent and though he tarries for none of his children, often lays his hands lightly upon those who have used him well; making them old men and women inexorably enough, but leaving their hearts and spirits young and in full vigor. With such people the gray head is but the impression of the old fellow's hand in giving them his blessing, and every wrinkle but a notch in the quiet calendar of a well-spent life.

  1. Interesting post! That flower is gorgeous, and the sentiment...I have a girlfriend who is absolutely terrified of wrinkles, but I'm not sure that I can be bothered too much. It is what it is, they are what they are. I'm not at the point yet where I'm willing to accept my ever-greying hair, but it's coming.

Thanks for sharing with us at Photo Friday!

  6. I think you have a point! I believe I am blessed with good genes. My grandmother and mother do not have wrinkles at all. In my case, I do not see a lot wrinkle signs on my face. I know people younger than me with noticeable wrinkles. Hope things continue going "smooth."

  7. Beautiful stamen.
The old men, not so much... sad, I remember when they were all the bees knees. Sadly, it happens to us all.
