MANY HOORAYS

Do you remember a few posts ago when I featured a woven paper background on an alternate card I had created using the June 2018 Paper Pumpkin kit? Here is a photo of the card to which I am referring:

Well, continuing on in the same vein, with the same Paper Pumpkin kit, I would like to introduce you to another of my alternate ideas for the kit.

The stamps I used on the card are from the kit: the cute slice of cake, as well as the starry "frosting" I added to them. I stamped them randomly all over a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Whisper White cardstock.

I added three of the gold foil Hoorays that came with the kit. I situated them in a random pattern, similar to the placing of the cake pieces, except they were all upright, of course, unlike the cake slices.

I then also floated one of the decorated cakes that came in the kit and topped it with one of the candles.

The cool part of a card like this is that it is completely FLAT -- great for mailing! There are no embellishments that add dimension.

If you look closely, I also added a few more elements to the background: the inner pieces of several of the letters from the Hoorays. I even used a little one for the candle flame.

To finish the card, I added it to a 4 1/4" x 11" piece of Lemon Lime Twist cardstock, folded in half.

In taking the photos of the card, I had a terrible time trying to capture the metallic look of the letters. No matter which way I turned it, I usually only was able to capture a portion of the letters looking like gold metallic, while most of the letters actually looked black. You can at least get the feel of the words on the last photo.

I hope you enjoyed my little foray into alternate ideas for the June 2018 Paper Pumpkin kit. It is so much fun to work outside the proverbial instruction box to see what can be concocted with the materials!

Alternate
Smiles.
