I know lots of people grab paint strip samples from stores that sell paint. They use them in various art projects. I still feel tacky grabbing some for my own use, almost as if I'm stealing. How do you feel about that? I have, however, gotten some over the years.
I used a strip of happy greens on this card. I do wish the paint companies do not feel the need to have print right on the colors themselves. Here I am complaining about something that I've "stolen".
SUPPLIES:
White cardstock
Yellow cardstock
Coordinating green cardstock
Brown cardstock
Green paint strip
Big Shot
Pressed Tin embossing folder
Sunflower dies
Dimensionals
INSTRUCTIONS:
Fold a 5 1/2" x 8 1.2" piece of white cardstock in half, creasing it well with a bone folder.
Using a pressed tin embossing folder, emboss a 4" x 5" piece of yellow cardstock. Add this to the white card base.
Cut a 2" x 5 1/4" strip of coordinating green cardstock.
Cut a 1 1/2" x 5 1/4" piece of brown cardstock. Add this, centered, to the green strip.
Cut a coordinating green strip of paint samples to 1 1/4" x 5 1/4". Add this to the brown strip.
From the same yelow cardstock, die cut both the detailed as well as the flat whole piece of the sunflower.
From the matching brown cardstock, die cut the center of the sunflower. In my sample, I did not remove any of the diecut circles. Your choice whether you want to do this or not. From the brown paper, die cut the solid center.
Put the sunflower together. I used mini Dimensionals to put the two sunflower components together, glued the large brown circle in place, and used mini Dimensionals to add the solid brown ciecle to the center.
Glue the finished sunflower over the paint strip, raised a bit from center.
