FOCUS FRIDAY: SNUGGLE TIME

NOVEMBER.

In Wisconsin it's
TIME
to get the
QUILTS
and
FLANNEL SHEETS
out of storage.

It is the season to
fire up the
FURNACE.

And turn on the lights
EARLIER.

And shut all the
WINDOWS.

Grab some
HOT CHOCOLATE.

And
HUNKER
down.

Yes, it's
SNUGGLE TIME!

I have come to regard November as the older,
harder man's October.
I appreciate the early darkness and cooler temperatures.
It puts my mind in a different place than October.
It is a month for a quieter,
slightly more subdued celebration
of summer's death as winter tightens its grip.

  1. I am in love with all these fall leaves. I love the colors and while I am not a fan of what follows I will enjoy every minute left before the snow falls and covers the last of the leaves.

  2. There's something so magical about leaf skeletons, so delicate and pretty. October/November is spring however and I find it hard to imagine autumn right now.

  9. Never thought of it that way! Usually November is much sunnier for us, but this year, we ahve had rain non-stop for almost the last 2 weeks.

  11. I was really like this post until I got to the very end and you spoke of Summer's death. Winters in Wisconsin are beautiful. I have family in several parts and have visited both in the Fall, Winter, and Summer months. Its been awhile. I'll have to plan a trip in the upcoming year.
