GREEN-PANELED THANKS

The October Paper Pumpkin kit is simply precious. The colors are striking, the ideas are darling, and I know I will use the included stamps a zillion times. SO VERSATILE!

Of course, as usual, I decided to march to my own drummer. Even though I love the cards that you can make with the kit, I wanted to stretch my imagination a bit, and make them purely my own. Putting  my own stamp on them, so to speak.

On the following card, I only used three components that actually came with the kit: the cute green printed background, the precut banner and three of the stamps.

I used two of the leafy-looking stamps, facing in opposite directions, to outline the preprinted leaves on the white piece.

Changing the color of ink for my card, I opted for Mossy Meadow, using this color as both the outlines and the "Thanks" on the banner.

Grabbing some of the Mossy Meadow ribbon I found on the Clearance Rack, I made a cute bow for the front of the card. Don't you just LOVE that ribbon? And it is simply exquisite to work with. The ribbon is still available in Basic Black, Crumb Cake, Melon Mambo, Pacific Point and Whisper White. But, unfortunately, not in Mossy Meadow. The current five colors can be found on page 159 of the big catalog.

But, as simple as it is, I think my favorite parts of the card are the three 3" Mossy Meadow panels that are spaced evenly across the Pear Pizzazz background piece. At first, I was just going to do the printed piece atop the Pear Pizzazz. But -- I don't know -- it looked somehow naked and unfinished. I'm not sure how inspiration struck me to do the strips. But I am so glad that my muse was looking out for me. Because I think the stripes are crazily effective.

Stampin' Dimensionals and the depth and richness of the bow
add a pleasing dimensionality to the card.

Aw, here it is again.
